Like many states, Alaska native families are struggling to find child care. Gaps between licensed child care supply and demand for working families exist across the state. For working parents in Alaska, extreme gaps in infant and toddler child care supply can be particularly difficult to overcome.
Below is our interactive map and report brief illustrating these gaps. On the final tab of the map, you will find our policy recommendations on how Child Care Resource & Referral agencies (CCR&Rs) can address these gaps to help working families.
Special thanks to our partners in Alaska for providing this critical data that has allowed us to create this map.
