Amanda Green, Senior Director of Healthy Child Care Initiatives
Amanda Green brings more than 20 years of experience at the crossroads of public health and education, with a passion for creating environments where children and those who care for them can thrive. At Child Care Aware® of America, she leads national efforts to strengthen the health, safety, and well-being of the child care workforce and the families they serve. Her work focuses on practical, real-world solutions—offering training, tools, and partnerships that help early childhood professionals support whole-child development and build lasting resilience.
Before joining CCAoA, Amanda spent 14 years at Alliance for a Healthier Generation leading large-scale initiatives that have touched the lives of over 31 million children. She played a key role in growing the Healthy Schools Program from 2,000 to over 54,000 schools, and later launched the Resilience in School Environments (RISE) initiative to support the social and emotional well-being of educators and students. Throughout her career, she’s worked closely with national experts and organizations—including the CDC and USDA—to help communities put ideas into action and build strong foundations for lifelong health.
Amanda holds a doctorate in organizational leadership, where her research explored how women in mission-driven roles stay motivated and effective in complex systems. That lens continues to guide her work today, especially her belief that a stable child care system starts with the people at its heart.
